| Notes | A fragment of Richard Huloet's Latin dictionary, printed in 1572, which includes a Latin epigram ("E.B. Carmen Sapphicum") and a commendatory verse by Thomas Churchyarde (beginning "GIue learninge laude, that burnes like lampe, in dimme and darkest soyles, / Which precious Pearle shal shewe it selfe, and craues no forged foyles"). This item is not a ballad, but is archived in EBBA because it is included in the important Bagford collection of ballads. |
