ATtend good Christians now I pray attend, Unto these Lines which now I here have penn'd Enough to grieve a Christian Soul full sore, The like good Lord was never known before. Blasphemous wretches in this Age do Reign, who may vile Expressions often frame; Drinking blasphemous Healths too well 'tis known, Striving the Great Almighty to dethrone. A sad Society did use tu meet, And wieh those sad Expressions often Greet, Stiiing themselves by Names of those above, which would the Heart of any Christian move. I mean of the Almighty God on High, And likewise Jesus Christ who once did die. To save the Souls of sinful Man just lost, Tho' now they scoff against the Holy Ghost. Some call themselves after the Lord on High, Some after Jesus Christ who once did dle, To save we sinful wretches almost lost, One likewise calls himself the Holy Ghost. So the blest Trinity they oft abus'd, How can we think the Lord will them excuse, O sinful Mortal Man how can you be, So treacherous against the Trinity. They do our blessed Saviour Christ disdain, who once did die for sinful Mortals Man,
Such sinful wretches sure was never known, Striving the great Almighty to dathrone. in the Strand those wretches us'd to meet With those Expressions they would often greet; Drinking Confusion to those Saints above, And likewise to our blessed Lord of Love. But Lord what can those sinful wretches think, when they those wibked Healths did use tu drink For to abuse the Blessed Lord above, who forfeited his Life for us in Love. Lord what a grievous thing it is foa us to see, Those wicked wretches to thts sad Degree, Thus to delight the Lord for to blaspheme, At Judgmen-day Lord what will be their Doom. But sure I hope they will in little time, Repent unto the Lord for this sad Crime; A Crime by Man sure ne'er was known before, Enough to grieve a Christians Heart full sore. Our gracious King likewise the Council too, An Order issued them to subdue; So let us strive to serve the Lord on high, when Death doth call we need not fear to die. For after Death when in the lifeless Grave, There's nothing but our Saviour can us save, Therefore Repent repent repent with speed, That we from heavy Judgments may be freed.
