                     <l n="82" rend="indent"><hi rend="italic">When lawful Pow'rs, make lawful Laws,</hi></l>
                     <l n="83" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">Which, we think, for our Kirk and Cause;</hi></l>
                     <l n="84" rend="left"><hi rend="italic"><hi rend="bold">Their Pow'rs of God,</hi> we then, allow it;</hi></l>
                     <l n="85" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">But otherwise,---we disavow it.</hi></l>

                     <l n="88" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">Is, that, whoever did ordain it,</hi></l>
                     <l n="89" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">It's Sacrilege---we will maintain it;</hi></l>
                     <l n="90" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">For by late Laws of Presbytrie,</hi></l>
                     <l n="91" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">When two, or three, or four agree;</hi></l>
                     <l n="92" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">Then---a <hi rend="bold">Secession,</hi> we can make,</hi></l>
                     <l n="93" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">Both, from the <hi rend="bold">Kirk,</hi> and from the <hi rend="bold">State;</hi></hi></l>
                     <l n="94" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">And, <hi rend="bold">Church Judicatories</hi> be,</hi></l>
                     <l n="95" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">When we think fit, whilst we agree.</hi></l>
                     <l n="96" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">And should they make it, even High Treason</hi></l>
                     <l n="97" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">Spite of all Law, and Sense, and Reason,</hi></l>
                     <l n="98" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">They'll find, that we will be so bold,</hi></l>
                     <l n="99" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">Our Benefices, still to hold---</hi></l>
                     <l n="100" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">For, tho', <hi rend="bold">all Powers by GOD appointed,</hi></hi></l>
                     <l n="101" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">It's we that make the <hi rend="bold">LORD's Anointed:</hi></hi></l>
                     <l n="102" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">And so, they'll find, <hi rend="bold">old Samuel made,</hi></hi></l>

                     <l n="114" rend="indent"><hi rend="italic"><hi rend="bold">We scorn all Mitres, Crowns, and Copes,</hi></hi></l>
                     <l n="115" rend="indent"><hi rend="bold"><hi rend="italic">Yet claim, as much Pow'r, as the Popes:</hi></hi></l>
