                     <l n="2" rend="left">A Tax being laid upon Liquor of Grain,</l>
                     <l n="3" rend="left">'Tis Barley made Malt, but here I must halt,</l>
                     <l n="4" rend="left">To give you a Touch of a damnable Fault</l>
                     <l n="5" rend="indent"><hi rend="italic">of the Brewer.</hi></l>

                     <l n="6" rend="left">The Parliament they, was pleased to lay</l>
                     <l n="7" rend="left">The Tax upon those that are able to pay;</l>

                     <l n="9" rend="left">Yet this very Tax is now laid on the Poor,</l>
                     <l n="10" rend="indent"><hi rend="italic">by the Brewer.</hi></l>

                     <l n="12" rend="left">This Tax is not laid but of Traders whole-sail;</l>
                     <l n="13" rend="left">This was the intent of the good Parliament,</l>
                     <l n="14" rend="left">But some says, they had not the perfect consent</l>
                     <l n="15" rend="indent"><hi rend="italic">of the Brewers.</hi></l>

                     <l n="22" rend="left">Nay, was I but now for to reckon up all,</l>

                     <l n="52" rend="left">But then they would tell us that Malt it was dear;</l>
