                     <l n="112" rend="indent">for truth, it rained Blood.</l>

                     <l n="113" rend="left">A Maid being starching there,</l>
                     <l n="114" rend="indent">as Reason doth require,</l>
                     <l n="115" rend="left">She went to fetch in Wood</l>
                     <l n="116" rend="indent">wherewith to make a Fire:</l>

                     <l n="117" rend="left">And having on such Cuffs,</l>
                     <l n="118" rend="indent">as Starchers oft do use,</l>
                     <l n="119" rend="left">Upon them fell some drops</l>
                     <l n="120" rend="indent">of Blood, made her to muse.</l>

                     <l n="121" rend="left">And holding up her Head,</l>
                     <l n="122" rend="indent">which made her wonder more,</l>
                     <l n="123" rend="left">She saw the Hedge of Cloaths,</l>
                     <l n="124" rend="indent">with Blood besprinkl'd o'er.</l>

                     <l n="125" rend="left">Then she throw'd down the Wood,</l>
                     <l n="126" rend="indent">and with amazement great</l>
                     <l n="127" rend="left">She went into the House,</l>
                     <l n="128" rend="indent">and this News did repeat.</l>

                     <l n="129" rend="left">The People then came forth,</l>
                     <l n="130" rend="indent">and found the News was true;</l>
                     <l n="131" rend="left">They saw the Hedge of Cloaths</l>
                     <l n="132" rend="indent">with Blood besprinkl'd to their view.</l>

                     <l n="133" rend="left">Then they took in the Cloaths,</l>
                     <l n="134" rend="indent">and wash'd them that same Day;</l>
                     <l n="135" rend="left">But Water, Leez, nor Soap,</l>
                     <l n="136" rend="indent">could take the Blood away.</l>

                     <l n="137" rend="left">We are so wicked grown,</l>
                     <l n="138" rend="indent">the Heavens do for us bleed,</l>
                     <l n="139" rend="left">And Wonders strange are shown:</l>
                     <l n="140" rend="indent">all this is true indeed.</l>

                     <l n="141" rend="left"><hi rend="italic">Sodom</hi> was warn'd afore,</l>
                     <l n="142" rend="indent">so was <hi rend="italic">Jerusalem,</hi></l>
                     <l n="143" rend="left">And many Places more,</l>
                     <l n="144" rend="indent">whom God did plague for Sin.</l>
                  </lg>

                     <l n="145" rend="left">But we are like the <hi rend="italic">Jews,</hi></l>
                     <l n="146" rend="indent">our Hearts are now so hard,</l>
                     <l n="147" rend="left">That we will not believe,</l>
                     <l n="148" rend="indent">nor yet God's Word regard.</l>
                  </lg>

                     <l n="149" rend="left">Now think upon each Sin,</l>
                     <l n="150" rend="indent">Pride, Whoredom, Drunkenness,</l>
                     <l n="151" rend="left">Swearing, Deceit, and Lyes,</l>
                     <l n="152" rend="indent">and vile Covetousness.</l>
                  </lg>

                     <l n="153" rend="left">Then we shall see our God</l>
                     <l n="154" rend="indent">will take us for his own,</l>
                     <l n="155" rend="left">If we believe these Signs</l>
                     <l n="156" rend="indent">and Tokens God hath shown.</l>
                  </lg>

                     <l n="157" rend="left">Concluding thus my News:</l>
                     <l n="158" rend="indent">The God of Truth and Peace</l>
                     <l n="159" rend="left">Grant that the Gospel may</l>
                     <l n="160" rend="indent">continually encrease.</l>
